The Cotton Club or Small’s Paradise during the Harlem Renaissance established the style of entertaining that some say was matched by Deep Ellum itn its 1920s -1930s heyday. It is that joyous, welcoming, creative, vital ambience to which Tuckers’ Blues aspires. Tuckers’ provides ongoing forum for local blues artists. Friday nights and Saturday nights, there's live lavish blues entertainment on stage 9:30 pm - 1:30 am, featuring different singers and musicians each weekend. Tuckers also produces other special events including original plays with music. During its first two years of operation, Tuckers developed and produced a tribute to Etta James titled "Simply Etta," and to Billie Holiday's blues recordings titled "Billie's Blues." The next production planned is a tribute to Texas' own Janis Joplin. On weeknights Tuckers' is often the venue for "Mama's Party" hosted by Amy Stevenson, for stand up comedy, latin jazz, and cd release parties, etc. Check our online calendar for details.
